How to find and hire the right professional

ProSourced is a free introduction and comparison service for business services. Here’s how to go from “we need help” to a professional you trust.

  1. Choose your service

Start from a service guide to learn what good looks like and what to ask.

  2. Build your brief

Use the free brief builder so every provider quotes for the same thing.

  3. Compare quotes

Ask several professionals. Compare scope, approach, timing and price, not just the total.

  4. Check and hire

Verify credentials and insurance, take up references and agree everything in writing.

Checks before you hire anyone

  • Credentials: check professional registers. Each service guide lists the main bodies by country.
  • Insurance: professional indemnity (also called errors and omissions) cover for advice-based services.
  • References: speak to two or three clients similar to you.
  • Contract: scope, deliverables, fees, payment terms, ownership of work, confidentiality, data protection and how either side can end it.

Our sister site DomComInsure explains business and professional indemnity insurance.

Our role

ProSourced doesn’t employ, endorse or vet individual professionals, and we’re not a party to any agreement you make. Some links are referral links: partner platforms may pay us a fee when we introduce you, at no extra cost to you. How we make money.
